ABOUT ADVENTURE ABROAD
LETTER FROM THE CEO
We challenge the status quo in everything we do. We believe in thinking differently. The way we challenge the status quo is to provide exclusive and uncompromising services that match your objective as an organisation or group. We create meaningful and transformational experiences separating you from everyone else, we don’t just tick boxes. Have you noticed how most travel brands ask what you want rather than why you want it?
I started Adventure Abroad to inspire people to do things outside of what is acceptable. To get people to believe that the way we live is only limited by our imagination. As a result, I’ve had the opportunity of creating and hosting the most amazing experiences around the world and it’s all based on an objective, purpose and reason behind creating moments.
It’s my mission to change the way people think to broaden their horizons and create more opportunities. For this to happen, it’s my job to make all the obstacles in the way of your destination insignificant, which is why no ask is ever too great. We partner with like-minded leading brands and organisations to empower their communities with the same values we believe in. If you don’t fit, we won’t work with you. It’s simple.
What do you think about a 15-course degustation meal at the North Pole? As I said, I’ve had the opportunity of creating some of the most memorable moments for the best clients.
The world is your oyster but who’s supplying the three-pronged fork?
CEO & Founder
About the founder
Tom grew up on a small farm in central Tasmania and was passionate about sport from an early age. He enjoyed rowing through high school and was selected to represent Tasmania before being drafted into his favourite AFL team, the Geelong Cats. Consecutive knee injuries cut short Tom’s dream of playing AFL in 2010. During this time, he also completed his Commerce and Law degree at Deakin University.
During his studies, Tom started a health and fitness business in Melbourne. This is where he found a passion for adventure travel, preparing and leading groups to major international marathons and some of the world’s most revered hikes. Tom has lead over 15 treks to Kokoda in Papua New Guinea, as well as multiple trips over Kilimanjaro, Mt Everest Base Camp and Tour du Mont Blanc.
At the age of 26, Tom set up his first office in his grandma’s spare bedroom and founded Adventure Abroad. He did so with the vision of inspiring people to broaden their horizons and embark on once-in-a-lifetime journeys. Today, Adventure Abroad partners with some of the world’s leading brands and works directly with leading global companies to provide clients with carefully crafted travel experiences.
Adventure Abroad is now recognised as one of Tour du Mont Blanc’s leading luxury adventure operators. These adventure expeditions also serve an important purpose by linking in with charity organisations from around the world to raise funds for a common goal. Adventure Abroad aims to help raise more than $1,000,000.00 in 2019.
